A totally new person. Lil’ Kim shocked fans on Sunday, April 24, when she shared a collection of Instagram photographs showcasing her totally unrecognizable new look.
In the snaps, Kim, 41, hardly bears any resemblance to her former self as she poses in a selection of photographs revealing her new long, blonde hair and very pale skin color.
Within moments of her big reveal, fans leapt online to respond to the pictures (she also shared a video of herself with two friends at the Fontainebleau hotel in Miami).
Most were completely overwhelmed by the “Lady Marmalade” rapper’s extreme transformation, feeling the change from her natural dark skin color to this new, lighter shade was not a good move.
“It’s really so sad that Lil Kim didn’t realize how beautiful she was without all of the surgery & bleaching,” one Twitter user commented.
“Dark skinned Lil Kim was perfection… I don’t know who this woman is anymore,” added another.
But while many people took to social media to slam the rapper for distancing herself from her roots, a number of fans stood up for her.
“Lil Kim needs love, support, understanding. Not shame & judgement,” wrote one.
“I grew up listening to Lil’ Kim, I loved her because she was so confident & I admired that, not realizing she was hurting. @LilKim,” wrote another.
