She went dark! Natalie Portman — currently promoting Thor: The Dark World — asserted her hair and beauty resilience, yet again, at a screening hosted by Dior Beauty and The Cinema Society for the film in NYC on Wednesday, Nov. 6.

The Oscar-winning actress, 32, debuted a shoulder-length, dip-dyed, honey-hued hairstyle on Oct. 23, but the star decided to swap the look for pin straight, dark chocolate-colored, blunt locks at Wednesday's event. Portman, who revealed her shorter-length hair at the Paris premiere of the Thor follow-up, worked with celebrity hair stylist Danilo prior to attending the NYC screening. The mom to 2-year-old Aleph (with husband Benjamin Millepied) described the process as "very quick. It was like 20 minutes before we [arrived at the event]," she told Us Weekly. "You can probably still smell by dye if you're close enough!" she added with a laugh.

While Portman has joined the beauty fray of celebrities opting for shorter hairstyles, she has yet to join her peers in taking the pixie-cut plunge — a look she last sported in 2006. The actress, who shaved her head while filming a particularly poignant scene in 2006's V for Vendetta (in one single take!), harkened back to her bygone buzz cut days: "Well, I have shaven my head and had it grow back. I feel like that’s an experience — that’s a once in a lifetime experience, especially when you have curly hair!"

The face of Dior carefully curated an outfit comprised of a colorful, glittery strapless top, tucked into a pair of black trousers to Wednesday's screening. Portman reprises her role as Jane Foster in the sequel. Thor: The Dark World hits theaters on Nov. 8.
