Teddi Mellencamp got emotional while trying on a new human hair wig amid her cancer battle.

Mellencamp, 44, was seen getting fitted for a new wig via the Wig Fairy’s Instagram on Thursday, June 11. In the clip, a hairstylist expertly placed a platinum blonde wig onto Mellencamp’s head and tossed the mane over the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum’s shoulders.

“Oh, this is already so much more comfortable,” Mellencamp said while the stylist adjusted the hair to sit perfectly on her head. “Oh my gosh! This looks so much better. It actually looks like it’s coming out of my head!”

Mellencamp, who was beaming as big as ever, exclaimed that she was excited to be able to put the hair into a ponytail without it looking fake. “Oh my gosh. You have no idea!” she said while playing with the hair, which was cut with long layers and face-framing pieces.

“This is —,” she continued while looking at herself in the mirror and tearing up. “I’m emotional. I like it so much more,” Mellencamp, who was diagnosed with stage IV melanoma in 2022, said. She praised the realistic hairline for being a “game changer.”

The hairstylist then cut a few inches off of the wig and styled it into big curls as Mellencamp smiled and clapped out of excitement.

“Oh my gosh, I love it so much. Yay!” she said.

“When the magic finally finds you ✨,” the account captioned the post. Her fans were quick to support her in the comments section.

“Teddi! So beautiful. 😍,” one wrote, while another added, “Wow beautiful wig! Looks amazing on her ❤️.” A third commented, “Teddi is so beautiful.”

Earlier this month, Mellencamp gave an update on her diagnosis, sharing she was having “raging” anxiety between cancer scans.

“So ever since I was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer, I get immunotherapy monthly, and I was getting cat scans and MRIs monthly, but this month, this past time, they decided they’re going to wait three to four months in between the tests,” she said via Instagram. “This has created such a nervous, raging anxiety inside of me.”

She continued, “Like, normally I dread immunotherapy, but I’m [usually] kind of excited to have my test, because I just had one three weeks before. But now that it’s been three and a half months, I feel sick. “I just want to be positive. I want to be like those people that just say they’re positive all the time, but I’m really scared.”

After her original Stage II diagnosis in 2022, the cancer had metastasized to her brain and lungs by 2025. In October of that year, she revealed that she had “no detectable cancer” on her scans, although she is continuing immunotherapy for now.”

“I’m not considered in remission or anything like that,” she explained on her “Two Ts in a Pod” podcast.
