Blue Steel never dies!
Out-awesoming anything that’s happened during Paris Fashion Week this season, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson revived their model characters from Zoolander to walk the runway at the Valentino fashion show on Tuesday, March 10.
Strutting their stuff in custom creations—Derek Zoolander (Stiller) in a “Night Butterflies” brocade suit and black “Creeper” shoes; Hansel (Wilson) in a “Silk Continent” pajama suit with a cashmere overcoat and sneaks—the pair worked their trademark, “Blue Steel” hardcore model faces for the cheering audience.
But the hilarity didn’t stop there! Once backstage, Stiller, 49, and Wilson, 46, still mugging in costume, stopped to pose with Vogue‘s editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, who seemed genuinely pleased to be sandwiched between the comedians (a snap Valentino shared via its Instagram page).
The best news of all: The actors were on the scene in the City of Light to announce that Zoolander 2, the sequel to their beloved 2001 film about dueling male models, is underway. According to Vogue, the comedy is set to begin filming in Rome very soon.
A source added to Us Weekly that the film is set to be released on Feb. 12, 2016, and that Stiller and writer Justin Theroux were finally ready to make a sequel because “they finally got a draft they love.”
