Lucky for Us, celebrity hairstylists have shared their most ingenious tricks to taming frizz so every day is a great hair day.

Swap Your Pillowcase

“When you toss and turn at night, your hair can rub up against the fabric, which causes friction and results in morning frizz,” says celebrity hairstylist Sarah Potempa, who counts Margot Robbie and Busy Philipps as clients. “A satin or silk pillowcase will cause less friction and leave your hair smoother when you wake up.”

Pamper Your Hair

“Start with a deep conditioner or mask at least once a week,” says L’Oreal Paris celebrity stylist Mara Roszak, who works with Emma Stone and Kate Mara. Her go-to choice: L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Total Repair 5 Damage Erasing Balm. The rinse-out mask combats five signs of damage including split ends, dullness and dehydration, which can lead to frizzy hair.

Skip a Major Cut

Save your hair’s length until fall, says Redken Brand Ambassador and founder of Cutler Salons in NYC, Rodney Cutler. “Leave layers an inch or two longer than usual to give the hair a bit more weight to fight frizz,” he advises.

Prep Hair Correctly

“Using frizz-taming products like oils and serums before styling hair is crucial,” says Roszak. “Finish with L’Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle Lock It Weather Control Hairspray,” she says. “It has anti-humidity protection in it.”

Rock a Chic Updo

“If you want your hair out of your face, pull already textured hair back into a messy knot,” says Cutler. “Secure hair at the nape of the neck and split into two sections. Twist the individual sections, and then wrap around each other, securing the look with french pins. Spray hair with Redken’s Wax Blast for even more texture and hold.”

Erase Frizz On the Go

“Touch up your hair and get rid of frizz anywhere with my new cordless rechargeable flat iron, the Jet-Setter,” Potempa tells Us of the new purse-size tool. “The silicon heating plates protect the hair, glide smoothly, and heat up quickly.”
