Rain, rain, go away, but ’til you do, let’s rock these hairstyles!

The People’s Choice Awards 2016 on Wednesday, January 6, brought out a major hair trend: rainy day hairstyles, which are quite necessary in L.A. right now, as the city is experiencing so much rain, the beaches are closing! The silver lining is that these styles happen to be extremely cute.

Julianne Hough (in Kaufmanfranco) hit the red carpet with a sleek topknot, with one pin-straight accent strand peeking out. Celeb hairstylist Riawna Capri used Paul Mitchell products to make sure Hough’s shiny ‘do didn’t budge.

Taking a slightly more conventional route, Lea Michele (in Elie Saab) also chose a topknot for the evening, though hers resembled a traditional ballerina bun.

PHOTOS: Dakota Johnson’s Best Dresses

Dakota Johnson (in Giorgio Armani Prive) picked up the award for Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress while working side-swept bangs and tousled waves — a no-fuss, precipitation-friendly style. Dove celebrity stylist Mark Townsend amped up the texture by spraying Dove Refresh + Care Dry Shampoo on her hair before adding wave with a double-barrel iron.

And then there was Lucy Hale (in Self-Portrait), who modeled a romantic halo of braids. Anticipating the potential frizz, she went ahead and teased the plaits before leaving the house, which only added more romance.
