Throwback Thursday! Kourtney Kardashian pointed out that her younger sister Kim Kardashian isn’t the only family member to bleach her hair. In fact, the mom of Mason, 6, Penelope, 4, and Reign, 20 months, went platinum blonde 20 years before Kim made a statement with her color in March 2015.
“I found this picture of me when I was 16 — and it brought back so many memories from this era!” Kardashian, 37, wrote on her website on Thursday, September 1. “Between the lip liner, pencil-thin eyebrows and the white hair, I guess I really embraced the ’90s trends back in the day!”
But her platinum tresses are just the beginning of the story. “I kept this hair color for only a month before dying my hair light brown with highlights,” she explained of the less-than-ideal hair makeover. “When I was getting my highlights touched up, all of them fried off and I had spikes of hair that stuck up, so I dyed my hair black and cut it short.”
While she learned her lesson, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star doesn’t regret the original hair makeover: “Even though I’ll probably never do something this extreme with my hair again — because it destroyed my hair and took forever to get healthy — I’m happy I tried it once.”
Kardashian, who admitted she hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a reunion with Scott Disick, didn’t swear off the color entirely. She added, “The next time I went blonde, I wore a wig for a cover shoot for 944 Magazine — in 2009.”
