Carpenter, 31, cites "irreconcilable differences" in her petition, filed in L.A. County Superior Court. The papers also noted that the couple have been separated since Aug. 9, 2010. She is seeking spousal support.

Reps for Carpenter and Hall announced their "amicable" split on Monday.

"I have absolutely nothing to do with the split between Michael and Jennifer. We are good friends and enjoyed working together," Stiles, 29, told Us in a statement Thursday.

"This is a personal matter between them, and we should respect their privacy. Although I too prefer to keep my private life private, I felt compelled to dispel the rumors I was somehow the cause for this matter."

I am saddened by this news. I hope that, if there's still love between them, they can work out their differences and stop this divorce. I also hope that they can continue to work together in Dexter because they make a great couple as Dexter and Debra Morgan.

I know most folk LOVE drama but cheating is not always the reason for the end of a marriage. Many marriages don't survive financial woes, the death of a child or a serious illness (in this particular case). Maybe he had an epiphany and didn't want to be married anymore or maybe she just felt it was too much for her to handle...who knows but the two of them? I wish them the best...
