The Down-Under trip -- which shall be documented on TLC's Kate Plus Eight -- was apparently hard-won for the reality star. Her ex-husband Jon Gosselin tried to keep the kids from going on the far-flung trip and even went to court, Radaronline reported.

Because the trip was work-related, a Berks County, Penn. judge dismissed Jon's request.

"It was another slap in the face for Jon because he did not want the kids to go to Australia," a source told Radar.
