Kate Winslet Steps Out Without Wedding Ring

Newly single Kate Winslet was photographed Saturday in New York City without her wedding ring.
The actress, 34, announced her split from Sam Mendes, 44 -- who directed her in Revolutionary Road -- earlier this month.
UsMagazine.com in a statement at the time, "Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year. The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children."

They are raising Mia, 9 (Winslet's daughter with ex husband Jim Threapleton), and their son, Joe, 6.
A source told Us that their "work schedules were too intense. They just couldn't make it work."
On March 15 -- the same day she confirmed the separation -- Winslet was photographed in a bikini while vacationing in Mexico with her kids.

She begins production on HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce next month.

The only thing I really know Kate from is "Titanic", which is the only movie in my whole life that I have ever paid more than once to see in a theatre. She was great in that movie, and if her real life involves some bumps and divorces, that's just the way it goes. I wish her the best. She's beautiful, and talented.
NOTE TO KATE: LOL point is you have "seen" her, do you know her? But you know Sam made Leo cry, poor baby. LOL she has a zillion dollars - why not actually raise the children she made instead of just go through husbands who don't conform to her needs...but Katie, calm down - you don't know those people..simple fact is Kate has a GIGANTIC EGO..and her daughter is just gonna have tolerate several new Daddies while Kate works and repeatedly falls in love on movie sets. Its sad, but Kate's priorities clearly have Kate first.

Here's how you make the work schedules work when you're in entertainment. Stop working so much; cut back on the number of projects, so that you can spend more time as a family. Being a director and an actor, Sam and Kate have more control over thier work schedules than the rest of the world.

* I would just like to point out that Kate has given up the 'spotlight' Speedy. She took a year off to spend time with her kids. Her husband apparently used to get home from work and rot infront of sports channels every night. Sam Mendes is such a bastard, he made Leo cry when they filmed Revolutionary Road. Shes better off without him.

not all divorced stars remove their wedding ring even after their remarried like Oscar winner Robert Redford for instance still wears the ring from his first marriage which ended in divorce 25 years ago and remarried last august after being with his live in girlfriend for 13 years so if Kate choses to take her ring off that's her choice it is if she chose to keep it on it's the same after a spouse dies as for example Joanne Woodward still wears her wedding ring from Paul Newman 18 months after he passed away but they would've been married 52 years last January had he lived
