There may not be a ring on his finger, but Matthew McConaughey wants to be clear -- he is off the market.
The free-spirited actor says love of five years, Camila Alves, 29, is The One. "I found the woman... I wanna make a family with, hopefully live our life out together," McConaughey, 41, declares in the new issue of Esquire magazine.

He's certainly settled into domestic bliss with Alves (model and host of Bravo' Sheer Genius) and their kids Levi, 2, and Vida, 1. The couple, who met at an L.A. bar in 2006, often host backyard barbecues for neighbors at their Malibu home. Though, he admits, some fans still find it hard to believe he is a family man.

"Do you think the image of me is a true picture of who I am? No, it's incomplete," the Lincoln Lawyer star notes. "But things about me that are out there -- I'm not going to say they're false."

He adds: "Am I a fun-loving guy, man? Who likes running around in the summer with his shirt off, man? Am I a guy who likes to hang out with his friends, and party and go to concerts and football games with his friends? Well, yeah! Yes, I am. Always have been. Always hopefully will be. You know?"

12she is gorgeous Elda. i wonder if they think we're committed to each other and are like married, (but always have that loophole to just leave if they feel like it). Also, i think if youre married you try harder to keep it together, who knows. Ive been married happily to the same man for 38 yrs. While my neice has been living with her bf for 10 yrs. interesting.
how can u not deny that beautiful olive skin of hers, she's Gorgeous!
I saw that movie The Lincoln Lawyer, it was one of the best movies I've seen in years. Excellent movie, if you haven't seen it, GO SEE IT!!!!!!!!
They should have thought about a marriage before they had a kid, not after. A pair will agree to make another human being, but can't agree to get married...ridiculous and shows a real lack of responsibility.
I think he'll get married...his parents were married till his father died. He obviously had a good example of a lasting one. If they are based in L.A. aren't they "common law" in another 2 years anyway? I'm a traditionalist, though, so I would prefer they get married...sorry. Maybe he's afraid of the property settlement if they divorce?
I wouldn't call myself old fashioned by any means, but I really think that there is a commitment that goes along with marriage that you don't get anywhere else. It's a heck of a lot easier to back out if you aren't married, and you always have the freedom to say "I'm not divorced, it's not like I was ever married". I don't know, if it works for people not to be married then great...maybe they'll last forever. Who knows?
Oh for crying out loud. Marriage is no guarantee of a happy stable relationship or ending and vice versa. But judging by the comments here you'd wonder what century we are living in. If two people are in a relationship and find it works for them. More power to them. I don't happen to believe or be interested in marriage for myself. But hey if someone else wanted that. Great for them too. Whatever works for two people and fits the situation. Oh and Thomas Mc....do you have some kind of 'gaydar' about him.....or are you just jealous cause he's hot, got an awesome babe of a wife and two beautiful kids. Jealous much......
Oh please. He actually thinks we will believe he's STRAIGHT ?!?
@Laquia...Agreed.
I say don't marry her if you don't want too. let's be real. Marriage is just another institution that society and religion both say you should do. I say live your life and do what you want. after all, marriage is a piece of paper. The commitment in your heart is really what matters!
I agree, marry her if you love her so much. Set a good example for your children. Don't just talk the talk, walk the walk.
Matthew,marry her.
