The View's co-host Sherri Shepherd, 43, said yes to television writer Lamar Sally, her rep confirms to UsMagazine.com.

The couple of more than a year became engaged on December 26 after returning from a San Diego trip. And the proposal was definitely a romantic one: Upon their arrival, Sally's friend had decorated the home with lights, put a Santa beard and hat on her dog, and hid the ring box in Shepherd's bowl of M&Ms.

Before asking for his love's hand, Sally asked permission from Shepherd's 5-year-old son, Jeffrey.
The couple is planning an August wedding in Chicago.

10Sherri recently made a joke on the Newlywed game about people from Ky marrying bro and sis. I understand she is engaged, who is she marrying, her father, grandpa or who? Only a member of her family would have her.
Of course Sherri Sheppard was desperate. Have you ever watched her on the View? It's always "I need a man this and I want a man that". Every other word that came out her mouth was about sex. "PRINCE" came to the View to promote his tour and what does moron Sherri say to him? quote.."Prince I've always dreamed of having sex with you". Prince ran off off the stage leaving Sherri sitting there looking stupid and embarrassed. Sherri Shepard makes all Black women look bad IMHO. I guess this is one of reasons that "Barbara Walters" loves her so much.
now why do they look perfect for each other? they look great together. @Elizabeth, apparently not that desperate...the guy seems like a gentleman and desperate ppl usually don't end up with one...he was thoughtful enough to talk to her son a/b marrying his mom. that's pretty special. although, i don't know anything a/b either or watch much of 'the view'.

Congrats, Sherri. I hope she's truly happy. When ur over 40, ur views change about relationships. U start to think about things that matter, are we the same spiritual values, is this person hardworking, going to be a good stepdad? Not so much, is he/she hot, do they have a cool car or some other shallow crap. Good 4 her!!!!!
