Some brides-to-be love planning their big day, but Vanessa Minnillo's walk down the aisle has her flashing back to high school.
"I always feel irresponsible, like I'm unprepared for my test at school," the actress tells Rachael Ray on her show airing next Monday. "We have nothing yet, except for the wedding planner."

Still, Minnillo, 30, isn't about to turn over the reins to hubby-to-be Nick Lachey, 37, a notorious fan of Cincinnati sports teams.
"If I let Nick plan the wedding it'll be around some sporting event," she said. "We'll have a big old tailgate party with Miller Light! We'll have University of Cincinnati Bearcats running around!"

Wedding aesthetics aside, Minnillo tells Ray that she was "floored" when the Sing Off host finally got down on one-knee and proposed in November after four years of dating.
"Since we've been together for so long every time he asked me to do something romantic, I thought it might be the moment," she says. "So even if I didn't want to, he'd be like 'Baby let's go watch the sunset,' I'm like, 'okay.' Just in case it was. Nothing. 'Baby let's go take a hike.' Nothing. This went on for like a year! But I don't think you're ever prepared for the moment."

One moment, Minillo's really not ready for? Having kids.
"Let's do it one chapter at a time, why rush?" she says. "We have the rest of our lives. If you have children, once they're there, they're there. You can't say, 'I don't think I want to deal with you today.' No, they're there!"

Tell Us What You Think
5I find her personality very fake and annoying. She loves to tell their private business. I think she's not in a rush (or so she claims)because he asked her to sign a PRENUP.
People suspended their comment section probably because of negative comments like the ones below. You don't have to be a fan to be polite and considerate of their feelings. Nick and Vanessa are beautiful people, in love and I believe they will be great parents. Fortune, you can have kids and not deal with them if you need a break, it's called sending them to grandma's house, so that mom and dad can have a date night or some alone time. Nick's brother Drew and his wife would love to help out, whenever they need it. The parents that are overwhelmed are the ones that never take a night off. We all need our support system in place, ready and willing to help out. I love kids and I'd be a sitter for Vanessa and Nick, if they're in Maryland and need one.
Us, enough of these two boring losers. Everytime they open their mouths (especially Vanessa), they sound incredibly stupid. Quit kissing their asses; they're nobodies. There must be more real celebrities to report on.
Nick, I know a gold digger when I see one. The minute Minnillo saw your royality checks from your singing career, she knew you were the one.
I generally don't think she's the sharpest tool in the shed, but I do give her credit for knowing something about the reality of having kids. She's right: you CAN'T say "I don't think I want to deal with you." You have to do it. So, good for her for knowing that before she has them.
