On June 29, Wimbledon spokesman Johnny Perkins admitted to the U.K.'s Daily Mail that schedule-makers consider attractiveness over ranking when deciding who should play in the prime arena, Centre Court.

Indeed: On June 24, leggy blonde Maria Sharapova, who is the 24th seed, scored the coveted green, while second-seed star Serena Williams was banished to the less prestigious No. 2 venue June 26. (Williams beat sister Venus to win Wimbledon July 4.)
