Daddy on defense! John Legend took to Twitter on Tuesday, May 10, to defend his wife, Chrissy Teigen, against the online trolls who have been criticizing her parenting skills since the couple welcomed daughter Luna to the world just three weeks ago.

“Funny there’s no dad-shaming,” the “All of Me” singer, 37, tweeted. “When both of us go out to dinner, shame both of us so Chrissy doesn’t have to take it all. We’ll split it.”

The new dad’s comment came hot on the heels of the Monday, May 9, episode of The Daily Show, in which correspondent Desi Lydic did a segment on “Momsplaining.”

In it, the comedian joked that haters who concerned themselves with how Teigen, 30, is raising her daughter need to take a step back and rethink their criticism.

“You’re worried about the quality of John Legend and Chrissy Teigen’s child care? It’s not like they’re getting their nanny off Craigslist,” Lydic said. “They’re rich celebrities. They could get Mary Poppins to watch their baby, as in literally call Julie Andrews, get her to come out of retirement to babysit in character as Mary Poppins.”

Teigen received a slew of comments after she and Legend stepped out for a date night less than two weeks after giving birth, but the new mom was unfazed.

“I went to dinner. People are pissed. Good morning!” she tweeted the next day.

Earlier in the day Monday, Teigen posted a Snapchat video of herself breastfeeding her daughter, Luna, on the set of a photo shoot.

“Christine wears many hats,” she captioned the video, during which she appears to be feeding her newborn while her assistant attempts to unzip her top.
