Kate Gosselin's Parenting Slammed After Son Crawls Under Minivan

Having eight kids can be a doozy, especially if you drive over one.
It was a close call for Kate Gosselin Thursday afternoon when she picked up her kids from their school bus' drop off location in Pennsylvania. Gosselin, 36, waited in the drivers' seat of her minivan while her eight kids departed their school bus and climbed into their family's vehicle.
But one seven-year-old boy decided to climb under his mother's minivan, rather than climb inside. In photos of the incident, the child can be seen lying on his belly underneath the body of the car, with his head directly behind the front right wheel of Gosselin's minivan.

Janette Fennell, president of KidsAndCars.org has spoken out against the reality star's poor, negligent parenting. "She should have gotten out of the car to supervise them, especially when you have that many children," Fennell remarked.

The child safety expert also told RadarOnline that motor vehicles are the biggest cause of adolescent deaths, and therefore Gosselin and her gang are very fortunate she didn't step on the gas. "She is blessed she didn't run him over," Fennell added.
"You should never leave children unattended in or around motor vehicles. Even if they are all capable of getting themselves into the van and getting buckled up, children at that age are unpredictable."

Whatever, this is so stupid. I don't care for her parenting style but the door is standing wide open, the car is most likely in park, I doubt the car is even ON and chances are rather high that this snapshot is not telling the whole story. I have kids, I drive up to the school and pick them up and while they are getting inthe car, the car is in park. Step on the gas all I like and it's not going anywhere. When you have EIGHT children piling into a van, the damn thing is in park. People really need something to do if this is what causes so much interest.
What Makes Me Laugh is Yes Their is a Picture of this kid undfer the car, But Who Says thats Really the Situation? & if it is Was the Photographer Going to sit in his/her car and watch her hit the child? I agree with Krista Im a very Protective mother of 2 & My Kids Still DO Dumb things if they didnt i guess we'd call them ADULTS (even though i know/read about/see adults do dumber things that my kids wouldnt even think of!) my point is You cant Believe all of what you hear/read!
not a fan..but really..kids do dumb stuff and it isn't the fault of the parents 100% of the time..I'd like to hear from a parent who's kids have always done the right, safest, smartest thing.

Her parenting should have been criticized a lot more while her stupid show was on... she paid way more attention to her conceited self than she did those kids.

Are you kidding me- Kate is nuts about her kids safety-= she would never RUN over her child. You guys are SO stupid posting this article. I don't know of any decent parent RUNNING over their child. As they make sure everyone is in the car and doors closed BEFORE the car starts! Almost ALL automobile accidents involving kids do not involve the parent running them over. Stupid people.
Oh give me a break. I am a nut when its come to safety of kids. But plenty of parents do not get out of the car. Normally some have to wait on the edge of the road while cars are moving on one side for most schools so it makes it impossible to get in and out of the car for a parent- They sit and wait. IIN all the cities and states I have lived in- parents stay inside the car- And no one RUNS over their child for goodness sakes! Its normally kids getting off buses and kids walking home from school that get hurt by cars. And it has never been a PARENt running over their own child. OH And BTW judges- Lets tape you for a day with your kids and see what you do wrong :) BECAUSE every big mouth will have SOMETHING to say to critisize you everyday. JUST like a lot of the people posting comments here. Take care of yourself. Kate is a good mom- Leave her alone- HOW about focus on all the molesters that the police have ALL the addresses of that upload child porn- And the top security person for the USA says there is not "enough" police to go to everyone of those houses. BS! How about all of you volunteer to help THOSE kids! Kates kids DO not need help. CHildren being molested and children who have TERRIBLE parents who let them get away with murder- THEY need help. I'm the first one to state that I'm a fanatic Mom and tend to be overly cautious with regards to my (and any) child(ren). On the same token, I can't even begin to imagine how a parent (single no less) has the time/energy/detail/mental-where-with-all to manage 4 of the same age kids at the same, let alone 8. As far as this particular incident goes, I don't agree at all with the fact that she didn't get out of the car. On the same token, I'm not her and don't know what races through her mind day in and day out.
Kate should not be criticized for her parenting. Some parents struggle with keeping track of two little ones, let alone eight! Lol
Seriously! He took his jacket off & put his back pack on the ground before his mom ran him over! GET A GRIP PEOPLE! Someone probably dropped something under the van. My 2 year old is constantly rolling stuff under our car on accident & guess what?- He has to get under the car to retrieve it! So unheard of...I must be a horrible mother too! GROW UP US MAG!

it looks like the girl is laughing with someone in the van..her MOM probably.I guess she knew what was going on but should have probably been out there with them anyway.
Oh Paalleeeaasse. I'm not a Kate fan either but I hardly call this bad parenting. The kid is goofing off and it looks like the girl is talking to Kate inside the car letting her know.
