O.C. Housewife Defends Herself After Kids' Stroller Rolls Into Pool

Real Housewife of O.C. star Alexis Bellino defends herself on her blog after a stroller carrying her 2 1/2-year-old daughters rolled into the pool on July 4.

In a post accompanied by a photo of her posing in a body-hugging catsuit, she writes, "On Sunday, July 4th, my family was leaving the Balboa Bay Club [in Newport Beach, Calif.] swimming pool in the late afternoon. As we were leaving, I turned to say goodbye. Our girls were in their stroller and I thought I had put the brake on, but apparently I didn't. My husband, Jim, and I were both standing close to the stroller. Within seconds, the stroller had rolled towards the pool and a stroller wheel rolled off the edge of the pool. Before either of us could grab the stroller, a second wheel rolled off the edge, and the stroller went into the pool. Of course, Jim instantly went into the pool. He grabbed of the girls himself and lifted both of them out of the water. Because the girls were not strapped into the stroller, and Jim was right there, their heads did not even go under water."

"While we are not making light of this incident, and have been reminded to never take our eyes off the children for even a second when near water, it has been so hurtful to know how this experience has been mischaracterized in the media. To all of you who have offered your support, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts," she added.

TMZ.com, which first reported the story, cited witnesses who claim the girls, Melania and Mackenna, slipped into the water when their parents were off "doing something." (They are also parents to 4-year-old son, James.)
Neither child needed medical attention.

Accidents happen no doubt but that annoying, ditzy and fake woman and her ugly, controlling and loser husband still make my skin crawl. Please let's not ever speak of them again or see them on tv! OH AND TRY USING THE SEAT BELT -THEY HELP FOR OTHER ACCIDENTS. DUH!

You haters need to go far, far away!! The greatest parents in the world have freak accidents with their kids. JUst because you don't like on her reality show doesn't mean she or her husband are bad parent!!! Get over your condescending selves!!
I am an avid watcher of The Housewifes of, all of em. This gal about takes the award for most arrogant. Her husband should get the award for most controlling. I'm glad you show these clowns for what they are. Makes me know my marriage is a wonderful place to be, compared to most of the housewives, thank you Lord!
Every Mom in the world knows freak scary accidents can happen to kids in a split second! This is just one of those accidents!
Had she jumped into the pool, her make-up would have needed to be re-touched.. AND, she would have needed a wardrobe change. Guess her nanny won't forget to put the brake on from now on....
She shouldn't be judged for this. I am a mother of two and these things happen. Our three year old was playing near water at a lake and we were right there next to her...next thing we know she RUNS into the water. She was already waist deep by the time Daddy got her. It happens.
How is it possible that the children fell into the pool, but their heads never went under the water. There is NO WAY Jim could have acted fast enough to prevent their heads from going under. There were TWO children in the water. He must be Superman (insert sarcasm here) if he was able to get these kids out of the water without their heads going under. And another thing . . . if the lifeguards didn't come to the aid of TWO CHILDREN FALLING INTO THE POOL why aren't they speaking up about this and complaining. Seems to me that would be negligence on the part of the club. Not buying their story. Sorry.
She should own up to her carelessness instead of saying it really wasn't that bad. Who leaves TWO children unstrapped in a stroller? Who leaves that stroller right next to a pool? Both parents turn their back to them to talk to people long enough that they don't even see the stroller going in the water? And what mother wouldn't instinctively jump in the pool also to get them out of the water immediately? She let her husband do that and didn't even think to help him. That's what happens when you have nannies raise your children and you don't know how to raise your own children. Horrible parents!
If what she's saying is true...I guess she & her hubby should be forgiven. Hope nothing like this ever happens again, or else it could end in tragedy, God 4 bid.
