Never too young to start social networking!

On Tuesday, Teen Mom's Gary Shirley created a Twitter page for Leah, his 2-year-old daughter with Amber Portwood.

The 24-year-old Indiana dad and reality star quickly found himself under attack for making an account for his little girl.

"You guys, it should be obvious that Leah has no contact with Twitter," he wrote. "This is just a fun concept that will in no way affect Leah herself."

"You actually think she'll read tweets?" he went on. "No! It's a fun thing for us to post pics and tweets. It's not actually her."

In case anyone was concerned, Shirley clarified that he would shield Leah from any negative comments. "I protect my daughter," he said. "This is for her sayings, things she's doing, etc. It's all me tweeting!"

Shirley's on-off girlfriend Portwood, 21, attempted suicide last month. Shirley was supportive of Leah's mom and kept fans posted on her condition. On June 26, however, Shirley told his Twitter followers: "I'm single."

it's a cute thing, please for god sakes, I don't who said that you have to take a test to be a parent, there's no way to be a perfect father, you'll learn by the time your kids grow, you also grow up with them, you learn to be a better parent, but I guess you think you are the perfect parent in order to say that Heather. He'll do the best for her, there are just two pictures of her in that account, one wearing gary's hat, and the other eating an Ice cream, she looks happy, because she's surrounded with family when the pictures are taken, when you see the ones from paparazzi it's logical that she won't look happy, why everything you do is criticize other, look at your lives, before you look someone else's

My 4 and 7 year olds have facebook accounts- with only family added and they are private. They get on them to play with their fish aquarium game. My 7 year old says hi to his grandmas and I type what ever my 4 year old daughter wants to say to her family. It's not appropriate if you are going to have the whole world and strangers looking at it though. Twitter is different I guess..but you don't want someone to get your child's contact info.

Poor Leah ALWAYS looks sad. She always has a frown or sad face.

I agree with Heidi and Ruby! I have followed the show since its inception. I only want the besy for each of them. I'm sorry Gary, but you and Amber can't work. You know on your heart, you wouldn't be in touch with eachother if you didn't have Leah. Gary needs to take care of Leah and Amber needs to take care of HERSELF. Eventually, Amber and Gary can co-parent with social services approval and some good therapy, individually and as a family! GOOD LUCK to ALL OF THEM!! PEOPLE: LOOK IN THE MIRROR! PLEASE DON'T ATTACK A PERSON'S APPEARANCE!!

they just use this poor kid....mostly to torture each other. they don't care what they do or say around her, or how they act. this is why you should have to pass a test to have a kid.

I agree w/ Heidi Angella Priddy.

The comments people leave are ridiculous. You're not happy when you see someone you consider to be too thin and not happy when you see people whom might be overweight... Name calling is bullying! The only thing that should matter is the safety of this child and wishing them well. I think him having a Twitter page set up for his daughter is a great way to keep the fans updated on his daughter and of their lives. No harm in that considering they have drawn a lot of fans on their show... Let's face it she is too young to be computer literate. The show was a great idea in teaching other teens of the consequences in having sex.

Tori Spelling has one for her son Liam for the same purposes, to tweet cute sayings and pictures. Obviously it isn't a child that can't read or write themselves hopping on the social network sites. I'd still be nervous to open my child up to social networking sites.

ok i agree that he should not have a twitter acct for the baby but some of the things said here about his appearence is not cool it kinda makes me think what kind of parents you would be would you allow your child to talk about someone like that so clean your self up before you trash someone else

Creepy!..........And so is he! I just looked & there are a little over 4k followers, i.e. losers. I don't watch these shows, I've only seen stories about them on the net. This fat slob kabob is thirsty for attention, good or bad!

Seriously? H$ll, why don't you just put her on display, or better yet but Toddler's and Tiara's. They are BOTH child abuse!

Did he stop working with the personal trainer?

  • July 14, 2011 - 11:06am Dawn Pennington

If he does it right, it can be a nice scrapbook of her life. Why does everybody's mind automatically default to the "creepy" setting?

What a dou-che...like the pedophiles aren't going to be looking at it? Doesn't she already have enough media coverage. I feel sorry for that poor girl who has two mentally challenged parents.
