Lamar clearly offered condolences to the boy's family in his tweet. I'm sure they made contact with the family personally. Everything doesn't need to be made public.

The facts in the article are not correct. The police have issued statements. The motorcyclist cause the crash and death. 1. The motorcyclist tried to make a left turn in front of a car that Lamar was a passenger. 2. The motorcyclist hit the front bumper of the car. 3. The motorcycle spun out of control, hit the boy, and injured him. 4. The boy died from the trauma from the impact of the motorcxycle. Lamar was just an innocent passenger in the backseat. He tweeted his condolences along with most people who heard of the death. He did not cause or is responsible for anything.

Lamar wasn't even driving so why do they keep posting the heading like he was directly involved? It's really annoying.

Sad story but the driver was not Lamar so there is no blame here to attach to him.....

I think that we are saying things about the tweeting because that is ALL that was reported about. No we don't know that they did or didn't contact the family however, we assume they didn't because of article. I agree that we should not judge them and say I am sorry for do so.

Wow some of you people are terrible. HOW do you know he DIDN'T contact the family? How do you know the DRIVER OF THE CAR HE WAS MERELY A PASSENGER IN didn't call the family? Or that the person on the cycle has not contacted them? You people are judging him as if he was the one who caused the accident but HE DID NOT CAUSE IT PEOPLE! I don't like this family very much but dang you can't judge or BLAME them fore something that they DID NOT DO! They tweeted it but HOW DO YOU KNOW that they were not getting a ton of tweets about the accident and that was WHY they tweeted it hmmm?Of course you people didn't think of that you only wanted to jump to conclusions and attack/judge them for it... Sure says alot about you. May the precious boy rest in peace and may God watch over his family as they grieve and than heal from this devastating loss.

I wasn't aware Twitter was a sincere, intimate way to express your feelings. They've probably been in touch with the boy's family and were simply responding to the hundreds of tweets they've received. Would it be preferred that the boy's name and photo was tweeted, along with his address?

people really need to stop judging everyone.. People can tweet if they want to and tweet if they dont want to.. WHY DO WE CARE?!?! It is there life we dont live it but people have to read and judge him.. Maybe he talked to the family for days now how do you know????????????????

  • July 19, 2011 - 11:06am Marlene Hufstader

I agree with Debi, i don't really hear any specific condolences to the family in Khloe Kardashian tweets

How do you know they didn't contact the family???? My thoughts and prayers are going out to Lamar, but especially to the family of the 15 year old boy. I cannot even imagine what they are going through.

Perhaps they should show more compassion for the boy's family instead of for themselves. But this seems to be the pattern with that family. I suggest they call the family, talke to them, instead of tweeting, which is the coward's way out.

Beth, maybe they did contact the family in person as well. You don't know!

  • July 19, 2011 - 10:05am Beth Anne Kruse

I think that they should have contacted the boys family instead of twitting it. I know that it was an accident but what about a little decentancy & honor for the young boy that died. I don't care how famous you are... 1 Corinthians..But all things should be done decently and in order. ESV

What a heartbreaking story. Sadly, I feel like a lawsuit will be filed against the Odoms, even though they were not driving.
