Laidback lovers. Alex Rodriguez was spotted for the first time in public with his new billionaire girlfriend, Anne Wojcicki, during a casual lunch date at a Mexican restaurant in Tampa, Florida, on Easter Sunday, March 27, since news broke last week about the pair dating.
Rodriguez, 40, and the 42-year-old ex-wife of Google cofounder Sergey Brin took in some alone time at Green Lemon, a modestly priced eatery very close to where the MLB star has spring training with the New York Yankees.
TMZ reports that the newly minted couple enjoyed each other’s company for more than an hour and engaged in some flirty PDA throughout the entire meal.
As Us Weekly previously reported, the pair began dating earlier this month. “They’ve been on a few dates,” a source confirmed to Us on March 23.
According to Page Six, sparks first started flying between the two when A-Rod came out to support Wojcicki during her speech at the Annual Clinical Genetics Meeting in Tampa last month. Prior to that event, they posed together at Vanity Fair’s pre-Super Bowl party in San Francisco on February 6.
Wojcicki is the cofounder of medical research firm 23andMe and used to work as a health care consultant at the West Coast-based company Passport Capital. She and ex-husband Brin, 42, who have two children together, ended their eight-year union in 2015. Wojcicki reportedly received several billion dollars after their divorce was finalized.
Prior to his relationship with the Wojcicki, Rodriguez was married to Cyntha Scurtis; they share daughters Natasha, 11, and Ella, 7. The duo split in 2008 after six years of marriage amid rumors that the athlete had an affair with Madonna.
The record-breaking baseball player also briefly dated A-listers Kate Hudson in 2009 and Cameron Diaz in 2010. In February 2015, Us confirmed that Rodriguez broke up with girlfriend Torrie Wilson after a three-year romance.
