No baby Clooney here! George Clooney and his wife Amal denied rumors to Us Weekly on Monday, Dec. 8, that they are expecting a baby together, after photos of the lawyer wearing a loose-fitting dress in Hollywood fueled pregnancy speculation this past weekend.
The recently wed couple were photographed leaving Hollywood hotspot Soho House after an evening out with friends on Saturday, Dec. 6. Alamuddin, 36, looked lovely in a loose tiered black dress which she elegantly draped with a cream cape-style coat and a layered necklace.
The British barrister was snapped at one point placing her hands above her stomach, causing observers to wonder whether she was cradling a tiny baby bump. From multiple side angles, it appeared as if her slender frame was offset by a slightly protruding tummy.
Alamuddin even held her velvet berry clutch in front of her stomach, as if she was concealing a possible baby bump as she said farewell to pals. Naturally, social media was rife with pregnancy speculation shortly after the photos were published online.
Whoa. Either Amal Clooney had one hell of a burrito for lunch or there's a baby Clooney on the way.— Emily Zanotti (@emzanotti) December 8, 2014
A rep for the couple flat-out denied to Us on Monday that the stars were expecting their first child together. "Amal Clooney is not pregnant," the rep said.
This isn't the first time Clooney's rep has had to issue a denial regarding a possible pregnancy. In September, the actor's rep denied to Us that Alamuddin was bearing Clooney's child after she stepped out in Lake Como, Italy, wearing a loose maxi dress that gave the illusion of a bump due to windy conditions.
The couple's latest headline-making appearance comes more than two months after the couple got married in Venice on Sept. 27. At their wedding, Alamuddin's father Ramzi Alamuddin jokingly told the couple about their next step after tying the knot. "Now, it's time for grandchildren!" he said at the reception.
