Amy Schumer absolutely hated being at the Met Gala in May — even after meeting Beyoncé!
The funnywoman, 35, told Howard Stern during an interview on the shock jock’s SiriusXM radio show on Tuesday, August 23, that being at fashion’s biggest night was “like punishment."
“It’s people doing an impression of having a conversation.… I don’t like the farce,” the Comedy Central star, who was a guest of Alexander Wang’s, told Stern, 62. “We’re dressed up like a bunch of f‑‑king a‑‑holes.”
“I got to meet Beyoncé and she was like, ‘Is this your first Met Gala?'” the comedian recalled. “And I was like, ‘It’s my last.'”
In fact, nothing fazed the Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo author, not even when Taylor Swift and the pop superstar’s now-boyfriend, Tom Hiddleston, had that headline-worthy dance-off.
“I don’t like it,” Schumer reiterated while talking about the night’s most-buzzworhty moments. “I have no interest in fashion.… I don’t care.”
The Emmy winner has been vocal in the past about not fitting in with the fashion industry — even during her July 2016 interview with high-fashion bible Vogue.
“I don’t think it’s stupid; there’s no moral reasoning,” she explained to the magazine of her disinterest in fashion. “It’s just not my thing. I just have this sense of entitlement that I should be able to feel comfortable at all times, like I could go to bed at any moment in what I’m wearing.”
