Blake Shelton Debuts Striking New Album Cover on ‘The Voice’: See It Here

If we’re honest … this is fire! Country superstar Blake Shelton debuted the striking cover of his new album, If I’m Honest, on The Voice on Monday, April 18, and TBH, Gwen Stefani is a lucky girl!

Voice host Carson Daly helped unveil the black-and-white cover image on Monday night, and joked: “Look at the head on that guy!” On the cover, a brooding Shelton, 39, stares down the camera while an overlay of blue text reads: “Blake Shelton If I’m Honest.”

“I’m excited about it,” the “Came Here to Forget” singer said of the album. “I think it’s the best I can do.” Shelton, who’s enjoyed a 15-year career in country so far, has released hits in the past such as “Honey Bee,” “Boys ‘Round Here,” “Sangria” and “God Gave Me You” and has won numerous ACM and CMA awards.

After 11 smash, acclaimed albums, Shelton joked with Daly that If I’m Honest would be his last. “I’m just a coach on The Voice from now on,” the singer joked.

In the record’s press release, Shelton added some insight about his lead new single, “Came Here to Forget,” which the artist released this past March.

“I’ve had a lot of music over the years,” Shelton said, “but I don’t think I’ve ever had a song before that’s such a direct look into my life.” (In the song, he sings: “Girl you’re getting over him and I’m getting over her / The eyes have it made, ain’t gotta say a word / Misery loves company, that’s why it’s you and me / Buying each other drinks, back at the bar, as thick as thieves.”)

Shelton went through a very public divorce with Miranda Lambert last summer, while his fellow Voice coach Gwen Stefani endured the demise of her marriage to Gavin Rossdale during that same time. The No Doubt singer’s rep confirmed exclusively to Us Weekly in November 2015 that Shelton and Stefani were an item. Stefani, 46, addressed her own painful split — and her new romance with Shelton — on her new album, This Is What the Truth Feels Like, which dropped in March.
