“I think I was with ’NSync when I performed for the first time,” she said, while trying to recall her iconic 1999 performance. “I think the whole setup was a classroom, and my four main dancers were in the front at their desk and I came out of my locker. But, you know what, I don’t remember at all. I have no recollection. I couldn’t tell you anything about it.”

The princess of pop, who performed her latest single “Make Me…” with G-Eazy during the 2016 MTV VMAs on Sunday, August 28, at NYC’s Madison Square Garden, offered up her smash hit “…Baby One More Time” in 1999 alongside ’NSync.

During her debut VMAs performance, Spears, 34, worked a purple two-piece outfit before Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick joined her on stage to perform their hit “Tearin’ Up My Heart.”

During Sunday night’s headline-making performance, Spears worked her curves in a yellow unitard while dancing alongside G-Eazy. The “Private Show” singer had her fans in a frenzy after she turned down G-Eazy’s mid-performance kiss.
