Candace Cameron Bure: Dave Coulier, AKA Full House’s Uncle Joey Introduced Me To My Husband

Uncle Joey — prankster and matchmaker? Who knew! Full House star Candace Cameron Bure stopped by HuffPost Live on Nov. 24 to promote her new Hallmark Christmas movie Christmas Under Wraps, and ended up reminiscing about her time on the beloved family sitcom.

Cameron Bure, 38, who starred as eldest child D.J. Tanner, said she’s still friends with most of the cast and they all spend time together.

“It’s hard to pinpoint one memory because I was on the show for eight years and I really did grow up on it, and it’s one big huge wonderful memory for me,” said the mom of three.

Cameron Bure’s eight-year run on the show, from 1987 to 1995, had many highlights — including meeting her now-husband Valeri Bure, former NHL hockey player.

The couple, who have been married since 1996, were introduced by Dave Coulier, who played goofy Uncle Joey on Full House.

During the show’s final season, Coulier, 55, was playing in a charity hockey game and invited the show’s cast to watch. Cameron Bure attended the match with co-star Lori Loughlin, and proceeded to scope out the guys on the ice rink.

“We were looking at these two cute men on the ice, and I was like ‘I wanna meet that one, the blonde one,’ which was Val,” laughed Cameron Bure.

After the match, Coulier introduced Cameron Bure and her future husband, 40, and the rest is history.

“We went on a date the very next day, and in less than a year we were engaged,” she said.

While Bure sent Coulier a signed hockey stick as a thank you for the intro, Cameron Bure joked that she probably hasn’t “thanked him enough.”
