Dressed in a silver Emilia Wickstead gown and draped in platinum and diamond earrings and bracelets, the actress looked utterly shocked when the (addicting!) Showtime freshman series was announced as winner, beating such established shows as Downton Abbey and Game of Thrones. She held his face for some time with her mouth wide open, and stood up to give him a sweet hug.
The Affair also stars Ruth Wilson, Dominic West, and Maura Tierney. Wilson and West were nominated for their work, with Wilson later winning in the Best Performance By An Actress In a Television Series – Drama category.
Last month, Kruger was just as elated after hearing the news of The Affair’s nomination. “So proud of my love!!!!!! Congratulations honey!! Can’t wait to celebrate with you tomorrow,” she tweeted at the time. She added of his costars: “Congrats to Ruth and Dominic!#TheAffair#JoshuaJackson.”
Kruger, 38, stunned at the Golden Globes while supporting her longtime beau. The couple have been vocal about not feeling the need to get married, but, nevertheless, teased Kruger’s Marina B diamond ring on the red carpet.
“No pressure!” the Dawson’s Creek alum, 36, said. “She came home with this the other day and I was like [oh no].”
They also opened up about their nine-year relationship. “Communication. It takes a lot I think. We’ve certainly had our ups and downs. It’s not easy as I’m sure we all know. But at the end of the day I just really like him,” Kruger gushed, caressing Jackson’s face. “I like him to be around.”
“I don’t think there is a magic formula,” Jackson chimed in. “My show is how not to stay in a long-term relationship!” he joked of the infidelity-themed series.
After the win, the couple continued the celebration at the HBO and NBC Universal parties.
