Ahh … best laid plans. Donald Trump stopped by Twitter’s New York headquarters on Monday, Sept. 21, to host the #AskTrump Q&A on the social media platform, and things didn’t go quite as positively as hoped.
Sure, the 69-year-old GOP presidential front-runner appeared optimistic before starting, tweeting a photo of himself standing in front of Twitter’s logo, giving a thumbs-up and a smirk.

But the questions mocking his hair, his many controversial statements, personality, and presidential run quickly ruled the hashtag, showing that perhaps this wasn’t the best way for him to reach potential voters.

While the attempt to reach out to young voters appears to have failed miserably, comedian Patton Oswalt isn’t so sure the event didn’t do its job. “Of course the #AskTrump hashtag backfired. It was supposed to,” he tweeted. “Jesus Christ on a publicity stunt, guys.”
Stunt or not, Trump gave it his stamp of approval, with yet another big smile, thumbs-up, and of course, a perfectly coifed ‘do as he posed afterward with the Twitter team.
