Lifestyles of the rich and famous! Ellen DeGeneres and Britney Spears went wild at a Los Angeles mall in a segment for The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and it was laugh-out-loud funny. The two stars demanded special A-list treatment during the shopping excursion and caused mischief everywhere from Ben & Jerry’s to Bloomingdale’s.
“I wanted to take advantage of the celebrity lifestyle with my famous friends,” the talk show host, 58, said on the Wednesday, September 7, episode. “So I called Britney Spears and took her to the Westfield Fashion Square Mall. I told her we could do whatever we wanted because we’re famous.”
Before they even got inside, they ran a stop sign and left the car parked in the middle of the road. As soon as the pals traipsed into one department store, they started wreaking havoc by running up the “down” escalator and asking for “100 percent discounts” on clothing for their celeb status. When the “Make Me …” singer, 34, exited the store wearing the stolen goods, the duo completely ignored the security alarms going off. “Somebody stole something. I can hear it,” DeGeneres quipped.
The comedian and the pop star then encountered a group of parents and young children at the indoor playground and began encouraging them to ditch their dreams of becoming doctors and think about going the celebrity route. “Start auditioning them early, put them on diets, get them facials, massages. If you want to be taken care of by your children, start auditioning them now!” DeGeneres told the moms and dads before signing a little girl’s Finding Dory shirt and declaring that she’s the voice of Dory.
Once they indulged in some free ice cream — hold the ice cream, just toppings for DeGeneres — the pair hit up a home-goods store. Terrorizing the whole mall must have been pretty tiring, because Degeneres and Spears drifted off to sleep in one of the display beds.
