She’s blushing! Ellen DeGeneres didn’t hesitate to put Gwen Stefani in the hot seat about her love life. The comedian asked Stefani during an interview, which airs on Friday, Nov. 20, if her boyfriend, Blake Shelton, is a good kisser.
DeGeneres, 57, first brought up the romance when she not-so-sneakily shared a photo of Stefani sitting on Shelton’s lap on the set of The Voice. “I don’t know where that came from,” she joked. “I don’t know why that’s up there. That’s right! He’s one of the coaches. And probably during another commercial break you’re on Adam [Levine]’s lap.”
Stefani, 46, quipped back: “Ride ’em cowboy…I’m usually on one of their laps between each commercial.”
Earlier this month, Us Weekly exclusively confirmed that the “Used to Love You” singer and Shelton, 39, are dating. The couple first met when Stefani joined Season 7 of The Voice as a coach. Click here to see the cutest photos of Gwen and Blake.
“I love watching the show and I love watching you and how fun you are on the show and how you seem to have gotten more and more relaxed as the season went on and more playful as the season goes on. I’m just trying to dance around the subject,” DeGeneres teased. “And [Blake’s] a good kisser, or no?”
Trying to steer off topic, Stefani replied: “Wow! You’re so awesome.”
Stefani was tight-lipped about k-i-s-s-i-n-g Shelton, but she did make a startling confession: She didn’t know who Shelton was before signing onto the NBC singing competition.
“I’ve told you before, I love Blake. I think he’s hilarious and he really is knowledgeable. He knows so much about music, doesn’t he?” DeGeneres asked.
“I did not know this about him because I didn’t even know who he was before I was on the show,” Stefani revealed. “Before I was on The Voice I never heard of him before. I didn’t. I hadn’t. I’m an O.C. girl. Like, what would I know?” she told DeGeneres. “But he knows every single ’80s song. He literally is a musical jukebox. He knows everything about music. It’s crazy.”
As previously reported, Stefani and Shelton’s friendship blossomed into romance weeks after they split from their significant others. Stefani announced in August that she and Gavin Rossdale were ending their 13-year marriage. (Us broke the news that the Bush frontman had been cheating on Stefani with the family’s nanny Mindy Mann.) Shelton and Miranda Lambert finalized their divorce in July after four years of marriage.
