You gotta have faith! The first trailer for Jennifer Garner’s new film, Miracles From Heaven, was released on Wednesday, Nov. 11, and from the looks of it, the flick won’t leave a single dry eye in the audience.
The film, which is based on a true story, follows the life of loving mom and wife Christy Beam (Garner), whose world is turned upside down when her daughter Annabel (Kylie Rogers) is diagnosed with a mysterious, terminal digestive disorder.
In scenes from the trailer, Garner, 43, emotionally combats doctors, herself, and God in an attempt to figure out why such a thing would happen to her sweet little girl.
“I’m scared, mom,” another of her three daughters says at one point.
“Me too,” Beam replies.
Things take a turn for the inexplicable, however, when Annabel one day falls 30 feet off a tree, and rather than getting hurt or dying, she is somehow cured.
“You’re telling me that when this baby girl fell 30 feet, she hit her head just right and it didn’t kill her and it didn’t paralyze her? It healed her?” Garner’s Beam demands of a doctor in the clip, adding, “Well, this is impossible.”
The movie also stars Queen Latifah and New Zealand actor Martin Henderson as Beam’s husband.
This will be Garner’s first major project since her public split and divorce from ex-husband Ben Affleck after 10 years of marriage this past June. The former couple share three kids together — Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3.
Miracles From Heaven is set to open in theaters on March 18, 2016.
