Jenny McCarthy is not your traditional bride! The former View co-host took her fiancé Donnie Wahlberg with her wedding dress shopping in New York City on Tuesday, July 22, a source exclusively tells Us Weekly.

The pair, who got engaged just last April, checked out the bridal shop at Bergdorf Goodman, an eyewitness tells Us. "Jenny was trying on a variety of dresses including Vera Wang, Isabelle Armstrong and Naeem Khan," the source says of the blonde 41-year-old radio host. Other customers, who were trying on dresses nearby, were gushing over seeing the bride-to-be "looking gorgeous in white," the eyewitness adds.

Although the former MTV host is still deciding on her wedding gown, the mom to 11-year-old son Evan revealed exclusively to Us Weekly she's set to say "I do" to the Blue Bloods star, 44, sooner rather than later. But, that doesn't mean she has all the details squared away!

McCarthy tells Us, "Really, I’m so bad [at planning]. The problem is, I consider myself to be kind of like a dude … Like, I just kind of want to show up and drink." Walhberg's ladylove, who was formerly married to John Mallory Asher, adds, "I don’t want to get lost in the mundane details. I just kind of want to enjoy the experience. You know, because this is my last wedding, I want to do it right, but I don’t want to overdo it."

One thing for sure is that the couple's nuptials will be heavily influenced by Chicago, McCarthy's home city. "I told them just generic [for the cake]—give me a red velvet cake. I’m from Chicago. Give me a meat. Give me a potato and that’s it," she laughed.

The bride-to-be added hints of Wahlberg's Boston heritage will be included as well. "We kind of wanted to do like a Boston, Chicago theme … We wanted some oysters maybe from the East Coast and have our dinner as the steak or lobster and steak—something to kind of represent both sides," she added.

"I [do] know I just want red roses everywhere," she told Us, "So that's what I'm sticking to."
