Justin Bieber Wears Prison Jumpsuit in Bond Court After Arrest, Bail Set at $2,500: See a GIF of His Appearance
Justin Bieber is facing some very gloomy music in the wake of his arrest on Thursday, Jan. 23, for DUI. Hours after he was taken into custody by Miami Beach police, the "Heartbreaker" singer, 19, appeared before a judge in bond court -- and Us Weekly was on the scene outside the courthouse for details.
Bieber -- who was photographed smiling in his mugshot -- wore an orange prisoner's jumpsuit as he was led into the courtroom. He looked very somber and remained very silent throughout the proceedings, occasionally shuffling his feet or glancing off to the side.
Bail was set at $2,500: $1,000 for resisting arrest, $1,000 for DUI, and $500 for his expired Georgia license. Bail for his friend Khalil, who was also arrested Thursday, was set at $1,000.
As previously reported, the teen superstar was taken into custody in Miami after an officer smelled "an odor of alcohol emanating" from his breath. In a police report about the incident, the officer notes that Bieber had "slow deliberate movements" and "bloodshot eyes"; he also cussed repeatedly while being patted down and resisted arrest without violence.
