The Leftovers star, 45, shared an amazing Throwback Thursday pic that showed him and former costar Elizabeth Banks, 42, in costume for their 2005 film, The Baxter.

"Fake #tbt to fake high school sweetheart, for fake set photo with the very real @elizabethbanks," Theroux captioned the Instagram shot, which showed her with big '80s hair and him with braces on his teeth, peach fuzz on his upper lip and a white turtleneck topped with a denim shirt. He added the hastags #og #badombres #whiteturtleneckanddenimpoppedcollarsosweetdudeyeahiknow #baxter.

The pair played former high school sweethearts who meet years later, just two weeks before her wedding to another guy (Michael Showalter). The film also starred Michelle Williams, Paul Rudd and Peter Dinklage. (Watch the trailer below.)

Their careers took off after appearing in the low-budget indie film, with Theroux veering into writing the screenplays for Tropic Thunder, Iron Man 2 and Rock of Ages and starring with future wife Jennifer Aniston in Wanderlust, while Banks appeared in hits including The Hunger Games, The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Magic Mike XXL and directed Pitch Perfect 2.

Theroux, who stars in The Girl on the Train, opened up earlier this month about his marriage to Aniston, calling his wife "a proper badass."

Many people would have crumbled under some of the stresses that have been put on her. I'm very proud of her for that, for the way she handles herself. So, in a weird way, it's an honor to stand behind her. Truly, in that sense, she's amazing."
