Kate Gosselin "Needs a Psychologist," Says Louis van Amstel

Even though Kate Gosselin was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday, Louis van Amstel, Niecy Nash's partner, thinks she showed promise.
"I must say, at the last minute, she showed more of herself," Amstel told UsMagazine.com at Thursday's Hot Hollywood party at Drai's Hollywood inside the W Hollywood.
"Too late," he added. Van Amstel wishes Gosselin had let her guard down earlier.

How would he have coached her? "You'd have to break her down and then teach -- what's going on, what's holding you down. She needs a psychologist, that's what it is...In the end, I felt really bad for Kate."
On camera, the 35-year-old mom wiped away tears when hearing her fate on Tuesday. Gosselin said she was "relieved" about the news on Friday's Live with Regis and Kelly; during her five weeks on the show, she consistently nabbed the lowest scores and the harshest critiques from the judges.

Behind the scenes, she was even more distraught. "I know Kate was really upset," former DWTS pro Karina Smirnoff told Us at the Hot Hollywood bash. Smirnoff said, "I know she was very emotional and crying...It's funny, every season we have celebrities that take it personally."

There's one upside, Edyta Sliwinska (partner to the ousted Aiden Turner) told Us at Thursday's fete: "I think she fell in love with dancing. She says she's going to put all her kids in a ballroom class!"

Dedicated to our wonderful MOTHER WHO WE LOVE SO VERY MUCH. I skimmed through this book that my mother wrote so many years ago and I am glad for the minutes of my time I spent doing so. The benefit is that I spent some time afterward reflecting on how glad I am that my parents loved us kids and therefore would alowed us to live better lives than we would have had. I know that my parents had such wonderful fans and support. To me I am glad that they give my mother such admiration. Our mother is a woman who was a struggling single mother after our father left. While before getting plenty of help from a full and wonderful staff of nannies to be with us and to protect us for the evil people of this world when she couldn't be with us. And that thanks to her corporate sponsors and the millions she and us kids have made to live as normal lives as we could, being so many to take care of. She is hardly struggling single mother as she once was. We try to take care of her as good as she did us. My mother was a single struggling mother who worked to have custom-built playhouses in our yard so we could play and have fun like other kids.She worked to pay a huge house payments so we could have a dicent and safe play and to live.. We kids are for ever greatful and got her her own hair and make-up artist on staff, who have hair extensions so that the evil haters would leave her alone but they never did. She made sure that we had groceries so we had food to eat. The list goes on and on and on of the wonderful things our mother did for us.... I feel very glad for us kids that we had a mom like we did. Now that we are adults, fully cognizant that our mother was as interested in being our mother as she was interested in the things that we did and have become. She was and is a grateful and faith-filled mother who only wants the best for her children and was willling to sacrifice to make that happen." Yes, it was a really difficult sacrifice for her to demand we re-enact Christmas morning for the camera crew. My mother worked to coach us on lines to say for the cameras when sometimes we didn't want to behave. We knew it wasn't Christmas but we were little and we didn't really understand that this was the best way to get our reaction. I'm sure it was really difficult for her to spank us when we were bad and didn't want to behave. We didn't realize then that it hurt her so.But thanks to her we kids are the better for it and have her to thank for making our lives so muuch better. We loved it on that school break when we were out of school so she could take us to California when she was on DWTS. We were so proud of her on this show. I'm sure it was difficult for Mom to have the press say such hateful things about her and accuse her of things she didn't do or say. She held her head up high and took that high road when she was so tired that she could hardly go on. The press and her haters hounded and stalking her and us kids every day of our lives. We loved to play in the drive way with our toys we had to share. They were always some haters and stalkers there some where. They lacked the empathy and intelligence to understand that she was doing the best for her children and how she sacrificing to make that happen.She did the best for the kids and made actual sacrifices, not demanding her children make sacrifices in order to do the best for us. This book is a wonderful sacrrifice of our mother's motherhood and what she did for us. If you consider buying it as a Mother's Day gift I am sure it will make a wonderful present. Or if you had rather instead donating the cost of the book to a local women and family shelter or some other worthy organization that helps real "struggling single mothers like our mother" who really want the best for their children and are having a little difficulty providing for them. After all we Gosselin kids really appreaciate the support you have shown our mother over the years. this book is our gift for our mom of our childhood and the times that we had. Thank you so much for you love and support. With out a mother like we had what would our worlds have been? Thank You sooooo very much our mother, Kate Gosselin.

I believe Kate needs a psychoanalysis. She believes she is a movie star. Their children will pay for her stupidity for the rest of their lives. Don't anyone badmouth Jon! She has been traveling-living with a man for at least 2 years. If you believe she needs a "bodyguard" to travel with 24-7, you need a shrink also. I was taught better than that. You don't travel with another man while your husband is home.....unless....the other man is doing more than playing like he is the FBI or CIA. Pleaseeeee! Why doesn't anyone follow Kate and "Stevie" while their are traveling the world over?? I think it is soooo cute when they dress alike, you know when they both are wearing purple. It was pitiful to read that after Kate tells everyone that all she wants to do is get home to her kids, Kate takes off from her kids to get a tan and a pedicure?????????? Yep, can't wait to see your kids, huh Kate.

the real victims here are the children, especially the twins. they are treated horribly by their parents on the show, and probably even worse off of it. I'm glad no one is buying her latest book. I hope people stop watching the show too, then she will be forced to get a real job. Kate is no different than the octomom. Both of them should have their children removed, and as a society we shouldn't reward this type of behavior.
As I read these comments, I don't think Kate could have done ANYTHING to appease those set on trying to slander her. When she had short hair, they made fun of it. When she got extensions, they made fun of those. If she smiles too much , she's a phony. When she doesn't smile, she's cold looking. When she's away from her kids, she's a bad mother. When she's with her kids , she's a bad mother. When she cried, she's acting. When she doesn't cry, she's selfish and self-centered. When she was on TV, she was harshly criticized. When the show ended and she moved to other projects, writing, speaking, she was criticized. What do you people want? Do you want to hammer in the nails on her cross?
