Kate Gosselin's New Book Bombs

Kate Gosselin's latest book isn't exactly flying off the shelves.
Since its April 13 release, I Just Want You to Know: Letters to My Kids on Love, Faith, and Family has sold just 10,084 copies, according to national book sales tracker Bookscan. The non-fiction title debuted at #11 on the New York Times' non fiction bestseller list, and at #103 on USA Today's bestsellers chart. By Thursday afternoon, its Amazon.com rank was #862.

This is in spite of Gosselin's relentless promotion of the tome on TV and radio -- plus her ubiquitous presence on Dancing with the Stars prior to her ouster last week.
Jim Milliot, business and news director of book-industry magazine Publishers Weekly, tells UsMagazine.com that the numbers "nowhere near a blockbuster" and "not that impressive."
By contrast, the 35-year-old mom's first two books, Multiple Blessings and Eight Little Faces, both climbed to number five on the New York Times' list; Multiple Blessings sold 523,000 copies in 2009.

Could I Just Want You to Know end up selling 500,000 copies in the long run? Not likely, Milliot tells Us, explaining that the lion's share of book sales typically occur "in the first month or two of publication." He adds that Gosselin will have "a very tough time getting to 50,000, let alone 100,000...I think it will be a disappointment in the end."

The book "continues [Kate's] story of faith and family," an Amazon description reads. "Using excerpts and written prayers from her journal, Kate offers an intimate look at the heart of a mother during the three years her family transitioned from obscurity into television fame."

403This woman has nothing I want to hear. She is a no-talent witch that the media insists on shoving into our faces. She wrote the book for the $$$ to pay for her tanning, fake hair extensions, and any future plastic surgeries. What the surgeons cannot do is give her a new personality. What a waste of precious paper.
Some of you ladies must not have watch and paid attention to there show jon & kate from the very first show. See and listen to what we all saw. her screams and tantrums at jon, embarrasing him on camera making him look like an idiot in front of his kids, putting down his fathering of his kids. he looked into the camera a few time with embarrasment. Belittleing him in front of the crew and public by shouting out to him like a fool. Well ladies maybe you girls are the same way with your husband like she is. And the greedy way she did not want her brother and aunt jody to share with some of the pay off for doing the show too. Where is aunt jody and her brother????? Anybody can run a household with nannies and sitter and take all the credit. She sure is not my example of a mom. Maybe the very first season but definetly not any more.
Can I have a reality show to? I have 6 kids and widowed. My kids dad passed. But I"m not munipulating and sniveling to people using my kids to pay for my beauty. Get with it mothers out there. Kate Gosselin likes the money and uses all the excuses about how her kids will miss the cameras and the mike man. Bull . She will miss them. She Is a weak woman and very dependant on the money. the broad doesent want to lose her house. Well TLC, PEOPLE, and TV period. Don't expect this peice of gum to ever get scraped off your shoes. I guess I figured she could physically write. But, who really wants to read anything she has to say. She is an uninteresting boob whose only claim to fame is as a brood mare. A a mother she sucks. As a dancer she sucked. Why should anything she had to say be remotely interesting?

All of her so called faith is a joke. No one could have the anger she has when she doesn't make as money as she wants and claim to be a christian. Greed and envy of the wealthy has guided this sham of a woman in every step of her life. God is proud when you work for your money, not pimp out your kids or go to measures to have an abnormal amount of children just to make money.
I cannot even stand to look at this woman, she grosses me out. I didn't watch "Dancing" till she was voted off, and then hated it that she was back for the Final show (at least she made a total fool of herself). What a cringy, yucky woman. Those poor kids, I'd rather be raised by her ex than her, he can't be any worse. What fool likes her or watches her shows? Are you that depressed and desperate for a life to want to be a part of hers? Pathetic.
Jealousy prompts many comments. What a bunch of jealous haters. She's a good mom, just trying to make a living and support her kids, since her no good ex obviously is not going to. So you'd rather she work 12 hour shifts at a hospital making a fraction of what she is making now, and not being able to afford her nice house for her kids? Get a life people, her business is absolutely NONE of yours, and if you hate her so much, stop reading the articles about her and making nasty comments, IT'S THAT SIMPLE. IDIOTS.

When are they going to realize they are going nowhere by promoting her. The first show was cut in the begining because the kids where little, it was a fluke thing that everyone jumped on the tabloid frenzy but its over, she doesnt have what it takes to stay in the TV business, the next two shows will fail and any of the desparate attempts to make something out of nothing. Then the real tradgedy of this whole nightmare is going to submerge, the damage to that family is a shame. Thats what happens when you get unstable people to agree to these reality shows. Move on already, the only reason any wathces what she does now is to see her fail and thats sad.
Sites like this with the nasty comments made me go and order both of Kate's latest books. I already had the first one. So thanks I've really enjoyed them. Keep it up!

Marcy you are 100% correct! They can't read and ARE uneducated. They support Kate b/c she has sparkly clothes on and they are mesmerized by shiny things. A little drool on their chin. I can picture them now! In their world - WHAT is a book? Beyond the pictures they don't get far in any book.
