Sorry Nick Jonas, but for once no one is paying attention to you. The "Chains" singer attended the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards with girlfriend Olivia Culpo on Sunday, Aug. 24, and took his seat next to longtime pal Demi Lovato inside The Forum during the live show.
Both former Miss Universe Culpo and Lovato looked incredible on the red carpet, baring their cleavage in floor-length dresses. Culpo, 22, wore a black and white low-cut dress with a red lip. Lovato, meanwhile, revealed even more skin in a cherry-colored Lanvin dress with a plunging neckline. She accessorized with Marina B Triangle Chute earrings in 18k yellow gold with diamonds.
"I haven't sat in a dress for this long in what feels like forever.. Where's my damn sweat pants…..#VMAs2014," Lovato, 22, joked via Twitter.
The trio sat together to watch all the performances, Nicki Minaj's wardrobe malfunction and Jay Pharoah crack jokes, but the ladies stood out all on their own in a snapshot Jonas posted via Instagram. "#RP @oliviaculpo @ddlovato so much fun with these two!" he captioned a pic of himself, Culpo and his brother Joe's ex. He later tweeted: "So much fun with my lady @oliviaculpo at the #VMA14."
Jonas, 22, wore a Vivienne Westwood blue and black tux for the night out, and appeared to be social — that is, until he crossed paths with Joe's other famous ex-girlfriend, Taylor Swift. An eyewitness tells Us Weekly that Nick sat in the VIP area with a few other males at the Republic Records VMA afterparty at Project LA. His booth just so happened to be right next to Swift, who was having a ball with good pal Lorde.
"The two did not interact at all," the onlooker tells Us. "And stayed in their respective booths once they were seated." Swift famously claimed back in November 2008 that Joe dumped her over a 27-second phone call after a few months of dating.
