When the prince met the kween! Prince Harry shook hands and chatted with Rihanna in her native Barbados on Wednesday, November 30, during his royal tour of the Caribbean.
The pop superstar, 28, joined the handsome royal, 32, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Barbados’ independence from Great Britain. The unlikely duo’s meeting took place at the country’s Toast to the Nation ceremony celebrating national achievements.
According to the U.K.’s Daily Express, the “Work” singer, who stunned in a knee-length pale blue dress for the event, sat at the same table as Guyana's President David Granger, which was in close proximity the handsome royal’s table.
Harry and RiRi were both due to make appearances later on in the evening at a mega concert at Kensington Oval cricket ground in Bridgetown — in front of a crowd of 20,000 — featuring some of the best Bajan talent performing in honor of Barbados’ freedom.
Harry’s two-week tour of seven nations in the Caribbean will come to a close in Guyana this weekend. Prince William’s younger brother arrived in Barbados on Monday, November 28. Despite rainy weather, Harry was all smiles while visiting the Nightingale Children’s Home, where he met with underprivileged kids.
Kensington Palace shared an adorable video of Harry hugging, talking to and making silly faces with the children at the center, which offers care to children from birth through the age of 18. He also stopped by the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he hung out with young patients.
“A hug for Prince Harry in the Paediatric Ward at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, which The Queen visited in 1966 #RoyalVisitBarbados,” Kensington Palace tweeted alongside several photos from his visit.
