How do you say "awkward" in French? Robert Pattinson and ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart may find themselves once again sharing an international stage when they head to the famed Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France, next month.
According to the 2014 lineup -- announced Thursday, April 17, in a press conference -- both stars have movies in the annual festival, which runs from May 14 to May 25. Pattinson, 27, will appear in the Australian crime drama The Rover, as well as in Maps to the Stars, a satire with Julianne Moore, John Cusack, and Mia Wasikowska. And Stewart, 24, can be seen with Juliette Binoche in Clouds of Sils Maria.
The former Twilight lovebirds have not been publicly reunited since their split in May 2013, though they were said to have met up in October. Prior to their breakup, the longtime couple struggled in vain to overcome the damage caused by Stewart's July 2012 fling with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.
"[Rob] really put her through the ringer," a source told Us Weekly after they called it quits. "Ultimately, it was like, 'Either we move past this or we don't.'"
Unfortunately for Twi-hards everywhere, they chose the latter. After their split, Pattinson was linked with Riley Keough and Dylan Penn. Stewart, meanwhile, told Marie Claire earlier this year, that she's leaving herself open to love. "You don't know who you will fall in love with," she said. "You just don't. You don't control it."
The Cannes 2014 Film Festival kicks off on May 14 with the Nicole Kidman movie Grace of Monaco. Other films on the lineup include Ryan Gosling's directorial debut, Lost River; the Ryan Reynolds thriller The Captive; and the Channing Tatum and Steve Carell drama Foxcatcher.
