Eva Mendes, in fact, does throw on sweatpants on occasion. Shortly after saying that wearing the comfy gear leads to divorce, the actress (and love Ryan Gosling!) revealed that it was all a joke.
"Dear favorite pair of sweatpants. I was just kidding when I said you're the #1 cause of divorce," Mendes, 41, captioned an Instagram photo of a baggy pair on Friday, Mar. 20, referring to her recent Extra interview when she said she never wears sweats at home.
She teased: "Everyone knows that orange crocs are the #1 cause of divorce. Either way it was a bad joke and I feel terrible if you or anyone thought I was serious. Thanks for understanding sweatpants. Sorry orange crocs."
Gosling, 34, also chimed in about the silly situation. "Obviously sweatpants thing was a joke. Wearing them now," he tweeted. "That's right, tweeting in sweatpants. Rats! Said too much! You win again Twitter."
Indeed, the Nice Guys actor likes to keep it casual behind closed doors. In January 2011, he wore onesie pajamas — and gave a pair to everyone in the audience — during The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Gosling and the Lost River actress welcomed their baby girl Esmeralda in September 2014.
