Selena Gomez is keeping mum about her love life. During a live television appearance on Monday, July 22, the newly legal singer cut an interview short when the reporter asked about her on-again, off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber.

The "Come & Get It" singer, 21, showed up to chat with Chicago’s WGN Entertainment host Dean Richards about her album Stars Dance, only to cue to a black screen when the "Heartbreaker" singer's name was brought up.

"Is there something about him that we don't get or we don't understand?" Richards quipped to the pop star. "I mean there's one story after the other of pretty outrageous things that we are reading about. What don't we get about him? Or what is it that he's not getting out there?"

Though all smiles at first, the awkward ordeal immediately made Gomez uncomfortable during the satellite broadcast. The "Slow Down" singer quickly looked down, rolled her eyes, and later glanced up off camera for support. She eventually laughed before her team cut off her footage and instead uploaded a black screen urging fans to buy tickets for her Stars Dance Tour. Richards, in turn, continued to blankly stare on.

Just like the interview, Gomez may have officially pulled the plug on her romance with the young star too. A few weeks after Bieber, 19, posted a picture of the duo on his Instagram page on July 5, after celebrating the 4th of July together, Gomez revealed to Ryan Seacrest that the two are no longer an item.

"No, I'm not," she replied on whether or not she was still with the "As Long As You Love Me" singer during the E! Special. If she were to date in the public eye again, she will "definitely keep it way more private next time."
