Back in the swing of things! Shannen Doherty stepped out on the red carpet at the 2015 Baby2Baby gala in Los Angeles on Saturday, Nov. 14, her first event appearance since revealing her breast cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star looked stunning in a black floor-length Vera Wang shift gown, sandals, and long sparkly earrings for the event, keeping things low-key as she celebrated the night, which brought together some of Hollywood’s biggest names.
“At the @baby2baby gala. Such a wonderful evening with inspiring women like @kerrywashington who gave one of the most inspiring speeches and the gorgeous, funny @jessicaalba,” she captioned a photo of herself at the event on Instagram. “Check out #baby2baby an organization that helps supply necessities for children coming from low income or no income families.”
In August this year, Doherty, 44, revealed that she had invasive breast cancer that she had failed to detect earlier because, she claimed in a lawsuit, she was not properly cover by her health insurance.
According to Doherty's suit against Tanner Mainstain, her former business management firm failed to procure insurance premiums through Screen Actors Guild in a timely manner, leading to her untreated diagnosis.
“In November 2013, SAG sent the premium invoice to Tanner Maintain for Plaintiff’s medical insurance coverage for the year 2014,” the suit read. “However, Defendants ignore it, failed to pay it (without informing Plaintiff) and then promptly terminated their relationship with [Doherty] effective February 7, 2014.”
Doherty’s husband, Kurt Iswarienko, is also suing the accounting firm for mismanaging the couple’s assets.
