Who needs The View? Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy weren’t letting news of their shock departure from the popular daytime TV show get them down on Thursday, June 26, as they shared a snap of themselves, smiling brightly and posing with McCarthy’s fiance Donny Wahlberg, via Instagram.
"Mr @DonnieWahlberg always takes care of his ladies @jennyannmccarthy & me! To be continued... ;O)," wrote Shepherd, who, as Us Weekly reported previously, will be leaving the talk show after seven years in the co-host hot seat.
Talking via twitter earlier in the day, McCarthy, 41, who has served as co-host with Shephard, 47, for one season, showed solidarity with her pal, writing. "If Sherri goes... I go too. #sisters."
"My View will be changing too," she added, as news of the pair's departure hit the internet. "As will with many hard working folks. Thanks to everyone at the show for your dedication and an amazing year.”
News of the co-hosts' departures broke on Thursday. "The View will be moving in an exciting new direction next season and ABC has made decisions to evolve the show creatively," the network said in a statement to Us. McCarthy and Shepherd's departures leave Whoopi Goldberg as the sole remaining cast member, following the talk show creator, Barbara Walters' retirement in May. She still serves as the series' executive producer.
The show is on hiatus next week, but a source expects both Shepherd and McCarthy to be onscreen again before they officially leave. “Stay tuned,” the source told Us. "It seems likely we'll see more of them.”
