
Whoopi Goldberg

Comedienne, actress and media personality Whoopi Goldberg made her film debut in The Color Purple in 1985 and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress as well as a Golden Globe Award for her role in the film.
She then went on to star in the blockbuster film Ghost, which won her a second Golden Globe and an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Other films roles include How Stella Got Her Groove Back, Girl, Interrupted, Sister Act and Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Goldberg is currently a co-host for ABC’s daytime talk show The View, which earned her an Emmy in 2009. She is also a human rights activist.
Goldberg has been married three times, most recently to actor Lyle Trachtenberg (the couple divorced in 1995). She and ex Alvin Martin had one daughter together named Alexandrea.
