Spelling it like it is. Life as Tori Spelling knew it changed forever in December 2013, when Us Weekly broke the news that her husband of seven years, Dean McDermott, had cheated on her with 28-year-old Emily Goodhand earlier that month. Now, in her first post-scandal interview, the mom of four talks exclusively to Us about McDermott's cheating confessions and the fragile state of their union.
"He was my soulmate, but he completely broke my heart," the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum tells Us of McDermott, with whom she has four kids, Liam, 7, Stella, 5, Hattie, 2, and Finn, 20 months. "It makes you not trust anything that's happened in your relationship."
At her home in Los Angeles, Spelling sat down with Us' Deputy News Director Rachel Teitelbaum on April 10, just a couple of weeks before the scheduled April 22 premiere of her upcoming Lifetime docu-series, True Tori. As teased in a preview for the show, the spouses have gone to couples therapy in an attempt to salvage their relationship.
In the new issue of Us Weekly, Spelling explains why she chose to put such a personal struggle on TV. She describes the devastating moment she confronted Dean about his cheating, how she is protecting their children, and why she didn't kick him out for good. Says the star: "I feel so judged, but it's not black and white." See more cheating scandals here.
