Amazing Race Contestant Gets Beaned By a Watermelon -- In the Face!

That'll leave a mark!

On Sunday's 17th season premiere of CBS' The Amazing Race, contestant Claire learned the hard way that the competition series is tougher than it looks.

Tasked with launching watermelons using a medieval ballista at an armor suit until it collapses, Claire is cheered on by her pal and fellow home shopping TV host, Brook.

"Right in the kisser -- show that knight who's boss," Brook encourages before the fateful shot.

Taking aim, Claire launches the watermelon, only to have it come right back at her square in the face. Dazed, she is OK and, surprisingly, bruise-free.

"I can't feel my face!" winces Claire.

Brook's only words to Claire after the mishap: "You have to finish."

In the end, the pair made it to the next round, with best pals Ron and Tony getting the boot.

The Amazing Race airs Sundays at 9 p.m./ET on CBS.
