PICS: Britney Spears Revisits Her Sexy Teen Days in VMA Ad

They're already two of the most talked-about stars at the MTV Video Music Awards, so Lady Gaga and Britney Spears are natural choices to appear in the show's promos.

The brand new images show Spears, 29, and Gaga, 25, posing with the iconic MTV Moonmen statues. Spears channels her midriff-baring, girl-next-door days of the '90s, smiling and posing with the award. Meanwhile, Lady Gaga puckers up for her black and white shot.

Both are no strangers to taking the stage to accept Moonmen in the past, having won multiple VMAs over the course of their careers. This year, Spears is nominated for Best Pop Video and Best Choreography for "Till the World Ends." Lady Gaga is nominated for several awards including Best Female Video ("Born This Way") and Best Choreography ("Judas"). Lady Gaga is set to perform at the ceremony, while a special tribute is planned for Spears.

The event airs live from Los Angeles on August 28.
