Dumb and Dumber To: Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels Debut First Trailer on Tonight Show
You want to hear the most annoying sound in the world? Strike that—you want to see the trailer for Dumb and Dumber To? Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels debuted the first trailer for their Dumb and Dumber sequel on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, June 10.
Two decades after the 1994 original, Lloyd Christmas (Carrey) and Harry Dunne (Daniels) reunite again for another cross-country adventure to find Harry's long lost daughter. The idiotic duo revisit Harry's apartment, break out their dog-decorated van, and get into trouble with civilians during their trip. Their ragged attire, meanwhile, hasn't changed a bit. (If only they were to bust out the orange and periwinkle blue tuxes!)
The comedy also stars Kathleen Turner, Laurie Holden, Rob Riggle, and Angela Kerecz.
"It's not even a movie anymore. It's a phenomenon," Carrey, 52, joked to Fallon.
Newsroom actor Daniels, 59, recalled his Dumb and Dumber audition in the early '90s, when he was an established dramatic actor who hadn't yet proven his comedic chops. "I was Mr. Drama and he was Jim, and so I had to prove that I could be funny…so we were doing the hot tub scene, and before we even said a word, he just went into Lloyd."
"So I just kind of sloshed my brain around and suddenly I was there," Daniels said, as he violently shook his head. Carrey chimed in: "He does that before every take by the way."
Dumb and Dumber To hits theaters on Nov. 14, 2014.
