Putting that martial arts training to good use! Though it was recently announced that Emily VanCamp’s ABC drama Revenge will be ending this season, the show’s lead has already landed her next big role.
VanCamp, 28, will be reprise her role as Captain America’s potential love interest, Agent 13, in the new sequel, Captain America: Civil War. The Canadian-born star already played the part in 2014’s Captain America: Winter Soldier.
Agent 13, who is also known as both Kate and Sharon Carter, is a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who posed as the next door neighbor of Steve Rogers (aka Captain America) in Winter Soldier.
According to the comics, Sharon Carter is the niece of Peggy Carter, Captain America’s love interest from the first film, who tragically never got a first date with the superhero after he was frozen and woken up decades later.
VanCamp tweeted a link to the announcement of her new role, writing, “…( that’s about all I can say).”
Now that Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) has been mostly linked with Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) in the Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America (Chris Evans) is a free agent, so to speak. Cue Agent 13! Revenge‘s series finale is Sunday, May 10.
