So long, Uncle Charlie!

CBS announced Friday that Ashton Kutcher will officially join the cast of Two and a Half Men.

Kutcher, 33, will join Jon Cryer, Angus T. Jones, Holland Taylor, Marin Hinkle and Conchata Ferrell on the series, thus replacing embattled actor Charlie Sheen. (Sheen was officially fired from Men in March after a very public battle with the show's creator, Chuck Lorre.)

"I can't wait to get to work with this ridiculously talented 2.5 team and I believe we can fill the stage with laughter that will echo in the viewers' homes," Kutcher told Us Weekly in a statement. "I can't replace Charlie Sheen but I'm going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people."

Lorre gushed about the former Punk'd star: "We are so lucky to have someone as talented, joyful and just plain remarkable as Ashton joining our family. Added to that is the deep sigh of relief knowing that our family stays together. If I was any happier, it'd be illegal."

Huge mistake...they should have cancelled the show altogether... Charlie (Harper/Sheen) thank you for 8 fantastic, funny seasons!

Cancel the show now. It's going to fail without Charlie Sheen. He may be an a-hole, but he's funny and the show is nothing without him

I think it will be a good addition. Besides I'm glad Charlie Sheen was not even considered for getting his old job back. If you don't appreciate what you have...tough crap!!!
