Jerry Seinfeld: Lady Gaga's "a Jerk"

Looks like Jerry Seinfeld won't be scoring a backstage pass to any of Lady Gaga's sold-out shows this summer.
"This woman is a jerk! I hate her," the comic, 56, sniped during a WFAN radio interview Monday.

Seinfeld took aim at Gaga, 24, after she was famously placed in his luxury box at a recent Mets game and flipped off photographers.

"I can't believe they put her in my box, which I paid for!" griped Seinfeld. "You give people the finger and you get upgraded? Is that the world we're living in now?"
Before the interview ended, he took one last swipe.

"You take one 'A' off that and you've got 'Gag,'" he dissed, adding: "She is talented, though. I don't know why she's doing this stuff."

You know that Lady Gaga's talented, which is really worth to paid for. You should be proud and rock her out. Not diss her.

WHATEVER TO ALL OF YOU M HATERS - There simply would be no Gaga if Madonna hadn't torn the walls down for woman in music moreso than any other female artist in history. Not just musically but on many levels. Everyone has their own opinion, obviously, but whatever you think, Gag Gag is ripping and her media frenzy will end eventually. Look at la britney and christina - not the New Madonna's they used to be tagged. Gag Gag is a talented pop music star, however original, no, repulsive yes, a Lady, NEVER WAS!!! She's even admitted to copying M so read her own quotes before you act as if she is not a theif of ideas and only because M has opened the door for the less talented to have a shot too. Bored with Gag Gag already!!

I used to be so much against Madonna, bit I respectbher so much now. She is a woman who is still making her mark on the world at 50. She is still relevant. Lady CaCa..not so much.

TO AARON: Blah, blah, blah with your psycho babble. Not to diminish Madonna's talent, but she was just a talented artist who tried to further herself along with sensationalism and shock value. Just like a hundred other people trying to attain fame. You never heard Madonna spewing out all of this superfluous crap.
I still ask, who the h e l l is Lady Gaga?And I don't blame Jerry Seinfeld for being mad.It might be compared to letting someone housesit your house while on vacation and the housesitter trashes the house with parties.Some people take advantage of the addage-You give them an inch, they take a mile.I guess this is what we have to look forward to, not that I follow much of celebrity antics, but the trashier the behavior, the more acceptable it is, which is sad because its like the decay of our society-sort of like the rise and fall of the Roman Empire.
@slinky... Madonna was an artist who had a great cultural resonance because she played with established cultural iconography with substance and meaning. She used the idea of Marilyn, because she actually represented the quintessential object of the male gaze - she was a victim - and turned it on its head, like a kind of revenge of the sex symbol. The male wet fantasy became a kind of neo-feminist nightmare. That is proper post-modernism. There is no comparing this to Gaga's use of Madonna's imagery, etc. It's not saying anything, it's not doing anything. It's just rehashing something and selling it to a generation who are none the wiser, whilst entirely robbing it of its message... or any message at all. Madonna's use/exploitation/lust for fame, and the way she usurped opportunities (such as sporting events, mind you) was ground-breaking at the time, because she was a woman and a star who basically said "Well, as the object of attention, I should be the one steering this, and I'm going to flaunt my power it gives me" - it was adolescent, sure, but it was NEW and had a point. It no longer has that point, it's 15 years on and times have well and truly changed. There's nothing "wrong" with Gaga particularly, but there's certainly nothing right.

@Shady/ I am not a Gaga fan. I find Gaga annoying. I don't hate Gaga, but I don't care for her, either. Madonna did not "idolize" Marilyn Monroe, she *stole* Marilyn Monroe's look and persona for over ten years of her career. Madonna ripped off Monroe for music videos (and not only for the 1985 "Material Girl" video, either); Madonna ripped Monroe off in photo spreads (for Vanity Fair and other magazine issues); for promotional photos for the early 1990s film "Truth or Dare," on Saturday Night Live, she dressed up like Monroe twice, etc. etc. Madonna is totally unoriginal. When not using cheap, manufactured controversy revolving around sex or religion, Madonna was simply aping and copying Marilyn Monroe. Madonna also ripped off other people, such as Greta Garbo, Debbie Harry, Jayne Mansfield, Dietrich. There's a difference between "idolizing" a celebrity and using that celebrity's persona to exploit it for your own gain because you're too lazy and unoriginal to come up with your own unique persona/ look/ fashion ideas.

@Ronald. Only Madonna's tours do half way well lately. For years now, her songs and albums have been failing, especially in the USA. Fans were so upset that American radio stations have stopped playing Madonna's newer music that a few years ago they began pestering and petitioning American radio stations to play Madonna's albums. Do web searches for headlines such as "More woe for Madonna as new single flops" (hosted by British site the Mirror), "Madonna's Record Low with Miles Away" (hosted on Contact Music). See also (on USA Weekend): "Women rule summer's music" where Madonna is not on the list. According to that USA article, the females with the most albums sold last year are Taylor Swift, Susan Boyle, and Gaga. Same article says Taylor Swift and Beyonce are the most played female, not Madonna. Online, says the article, the female artists streamed the most are Swift,Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Pink, Gaga, and Kelly Clarkson.
